Halloween Work Out Outfit

Each year my Zumba instructor has encouraged her students to wear an outfit appropriate for Halloween and each year I’ve never had one.  I decided to buy this top so this way I’d feel more in the spirit of the holiday.

Normally, I’d never wear bright orange but this serves a purpose.  The tank, bra, and capri are all from http://www.fabletics.com.  Right now the top is only $13.97.  Personally I don’t think the quality is great but it’s fine for me as I only plan on wearing it for a short time each season.  The capri is now $39.95 and I really like the quality.  Generally, all capris that I’ve purchased from this site have have been of good quality so far. This particular one has a net and pocket on each side which is great if you go out jogging and don’t have a place to put anything.  The seamless bra is also adjustable so you can wear it two different ways.

I’m also not a fan of buying clothing online because I prefer to try things on, but this website makes you take a test and the sizes it picked for me seem to be true.

Happy Halloween!

Off the shoulder top

The unofficial end of summer has passed and it’s supposed to bring cooler temperatures.  Well, nobody has told Mother Nature that.  The 90+ degree weather has enabled me to still wear shorts.

What I love about this off the shoulder top is that it combines both Summer and Autumn.  Its cool enough to be worn in the summer but has the Maple leaf coloring.  What stands out to me most is the lace because it makes it extra feminine.

The top is from Charlotte Russe, the shorts are from NY & Co. and the leaf earrings and charm bracelet is from http://www.thepinkbarn.com

In about 2 months, 500 followers!

I reached a 500 follower milestone in just over 2 months and I wanted to thank each and every one of you (my first real post was June 28th)!  I’ve tried to follow back all of you but there are a few that I haven’t been able to because of some sort of technical difficulties.  So if you fall within that group, I ask that you please let me know!

I’m also on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter @jerseygirlweb.  If you decide to “like” my Facebook page I’d be happy to like yours as well; just private message me the page.

As far as this blog is concerned, I’ve been working on perfecting it.  Except for maybe 1 post, I don’t think there have been any that I’ve been 100% happy with.  So stay tuned as it improves.

If anyone has anything they’d like to comment on, please feel free to do so.

Thanks again.

Take care.

I only have eyelets for you…

It’s funny how a person’s taste can change when they get older.  I remember my First Communion dress was eyelet and thinking how ugly it was.  As they years passed, I learned to like it.

Unfortunately you may not be able to see it well, but this strapless dress is eyelet.  It has two layers and buttons down the front.  I wore it with tan pumps.

The green leaf earrings are marblized while the leaf bracelet has rhinestones.  Both items are from http://www.thepinkbarn.com

I decided to have the dress photographed with and without the black satin belt it came with.  Which begs the question…. do you prefer it with or without the belt?

White halter with blue shorts

Ok, I know I’ve been wearing a lot of halter tops lately but this heat wave has been terrible!  Here I’m wearing a white halter top with tan lace.  I bought this at the Limited.  Personally, I feel like their merchandise is hit or miss.  Sometimes they carry items that have good quality while some of it isn’t so great.  Their prices are also a little high but you can get some items at a reasonable price if you either buy them on sale or clearance.  While I find this particular top pretty, this is not one of their better quality items.

The necklace is part of an earrings and necklace set from http://www.thepinkbarn.com.  It has a faux stone with a gold tone finish. I wore it with shorts I bought at NY & Co. and the sandals I purchased at a store at the boardwalk.

I hope everybody is having a great summer.   There are just a few short weeks until the unofficial end of it… Are you ready for Autumn?

Pink and Black

At first glance, this looks like an ordinary halter.  However, I bought it because of the back (sorry it’s not pictured). The back has a lace section about 4″ wide by 7″ long.  I picked it up at Old Navy for $16.94 and I’m wearing a size small. The shorts are from NY & Co. but you can pretty much pick them up anywhere.  I wore this with a turquoise tassel necklace and bracelet.  If you look closely, you can see the stone on the necklace is faux marble.  Both are available at http://www.thepinkbarn.com
I hope everybody has a great weekend!

Pretty in Pink

One of my favorite retailers is NY & Co because I like a lot of their clothes and their sale prices make everything affordable.  Sometimes I get coupons from them taking $25 or $50 off almost anything in the store but when I read the fine print there is little left after the exclusions!  Nevertheless, I still like their merchandise and will continue to buy items from them.

This dress is another NY & Co. item (I’m wearing a size 6) but I bought it last year and the earrings  ($12.99) are from http://www.thepinkbarn.com

I hope everybody had a great weekend!

Keeping it classy

With the hot weather we’ve been having I wanted to wear something that kept me cool but was dressier than my previous posts.  I picked up the top at Express for JUST $8.99 (I love a bargain)!  It’s material is thin and I like how the straps cross in the back.  In one of the pictures above you can see that my shorts actually  have polka dots.  They also are made of a thin material and I picked them up last year at NY & Co.  The necklace has both silver and gold tone branches with pretty little rhinestones. The silver tone cuff complements the necklace and also has rhinestones. They were $14.99 and $10.99 respectively and are from http://www.thepinkbarn.com

I had dinner with an old friend the other night.  It was great catching up.  What have you been up to?

Following Troubleshooting

Hey everybody~ to those of you that have followed me, thanks!  I like to reciprocate the favor and follow back but for some strange reason, I’m unable to for some of you.  A common message I get is that the site is no longer available because the author deleted it (even though I’ve had people follow me JUST moments before!).  So if I didn’t follow you back, please reach out to me so I can bring the potential problem to your attention and hopefully get it fixed.  It could prevent others from following you as well!

You had me at Merlot

There’s nothing like relaxing to a glass of wine and some soft music with all this fantastic weather we’ve been getting.  This floral dress is from NY and Co. and the necklace, earrings, and bracelet are all from http://www.thepinkbarn.com ($14.99, $12.99, and $10.99 respectively).

How are you spending your weekend?
